LIBRARY AT SAWMILL

Students visit the library once a week for a 40-minute class period. They are also welcome to visit at the beginning and/or end of the school day to borrow/return library materials.  

Students may take out one book for pleasure and one book for a research project. No students will be permitted more than two books out at one time. Graphic novels must be returned within one week. Chapter books must be returned or renewed within three weeks. All other books must either be renewed or returned within two weeks.

Library Program Goals: (1) To provide intellectual and physical access to information and ideas, (2) to promote an appreciation of literature, and (3) to develop study, research, and critical thinking skills.

OPALS

We are excited to announce that we have a new library system. Introducing OPALS, OPen-source Automated Library System! OPALS is a 24/7 information source for students and teachers to use and access wherever they are. Some of the key features include:
-Single sign-on for all databases
-On-campus Google searches
-Specific searches (title, topic, author…)
