Miniature Horses Walk Sawmill Hallways as Intermediate School Launches Fundraiser

A pair of miniature horses roamed the halls of Sawmill on Monday to kick off the intermediate school’s fundraiser for HorseAbility.
A handful of students had the chance to meet and pet miniature therapy horses Pearl and Aiden before the entire student body saw the miniature horses on stage in the auditorium and heard about the fundraising campaign.
HorseAbililty, based on a farm at SUNY Old Westbury, aims to improve the lives of individuals with special needs through interactions with its 26 horses.
Sawmill families will have the opportunity to purchase raffle tickets for $5, or three for $10, with all of the proceeds being donated to HorseAbility. The raffle’s top prize is a Meta Quest 3S mixed-reality headset.
